Jerrod Appenzeller

Executive Consultant

I’m passionate about helping clients find unique ways to unlock more of their potential. I have a professional background in finance, economics, banking, risk management, valuation, statistics, and AI and I’m an experienced entrepreneur, having started and managed a CPG brand and AgTech business and worked as an advisor for several startups. I volunteer my time helping other military veteran entrepreneurs as an IVMF Bunker Labs Ambassador.

I hold an MBA from the University of Missouri with additional graduate coursework in statistics and machine learning from Iowa State and Stanford University. I’ve worked as an adjunct professor for the University of Missouri, DMACC, and Drake University on the topics of finance, accounting, and statistical programming.

I’m a scholar and a warrior — I’m an Iraq war veteran, having served as an infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division, and I hold a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As the saying goes, I’m a lover and a fighter — I enjoy time with my family and the community connections we’ve established. Due to my experience, grit, and deep professional network, I’m confident that no challenge is too big for Ultimum to handle.

Jase Stewart

Senior Consultant

Jase is an accomplished consultant with over a decade of experience, specializing in strategic problem-solving and data analysis. Originating from Australia, Jase's professional journey commenced within a family business while pursuing an undergraduate program in pre-medicine. During his time in Australia, he actively engaged in community sports and served with the rural fire brigade, demonstrating his commitment to both professional and civic endeavors.

Bringing a formidable academic background to his work, Jase holds Masters degrees in Statistics and Business Analytics in addition to extensive pre-med and legal coursework. His transition from drug research and analysis at ISU to a hybrid position at Wells Fargo bridging modeling, governance, and production reporting underscores his versatility and adaptability. Today, Jase is recognized as a trusted consultant, dedicated to empowering organizations with actionable insights and strategic guidance to drive sustainable growth and success.

Pawel Barnas

Technical Consultant

Pawel brings a wealth of technical knowledge to the Ultimum team as an expert in cloud database engineering and agile project management. He’s an AWS Certified Cloud Professional and holds degrees in mathematics and computer science from Drake University, where he graduated summa cum laude. In high school, Pawel’s tenancy and leadership were on full display outside of the classroom as well, serving as captain of the football, baseball, and wrestling teams.

Pawel’s dad immigrated from Poland with no money, no connections, and only spoke Polish.  With hard work and self-motivation, he created his own business and was able to support a family of six.  That mindset of hard work is the same one that Pawel applies to his professional endeavors, he refuses to deliver anything but the best for our clients.
